AKRON, Ohio — St. Vincent-St. Mary will not be playing its football game Friday at Canal Winchester Harvest Prep, according to a press release by the school. The Akron Beacon Journal first reported the cancellation, citing the school’s press release that cited injuries and illness, including a bacterial skin infection, among players.

Pickerington Central freshman running back Edmund McAllister III had 144 yards and three touchdowns in a 43-30 win at Canal Winchester on Sept. 19.

Newark (3-3, 1-2) led 20-7 in the first quarter and 20-17 at halftime before a back-and-forth second half. Jamari Snow’s 2-yard TD run with 3:39 left in the game allowed Canal (5-1, 2-1) to spoil the Wildcats’ homecoming.
