Today we’re wrapping up National Forensic Science Week by highlighting our DNA CODIS, DNA Forensics, and the Evidence Receiving units within the Louisiana State Police Crime Laboratory. Personnel within all of the units do an extraordinary job within their respective disciplines, see below for some of their recent accomplishments. ABC15 Reporter Ford Hatchett provided an update regarding DNA samples from gloves that investigators found 2 miles from Nancy Guthrie's home in Tucson. He told Outspoken with Bruce & Gaydos that due to the DNA not producing any hits in the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS), authorities will now need to use genetic genealogy to try find a match.
